Antarctica success for British swimmer

A Hampshire Flag manufactured flag was flying once again during a daredevil attempt by a record-breaking British swimmer to successfully complete two swims in Antarctica. The first took place near Petermann Island and the second near Deception Island in December. HFC supplied the three large flags used during the British Antarctic Swimming Expedition in waters close to freezing.

HFC supports Afghanistan’s rebuild

HFC played its part in the regeneration of Afghanistan by supplying more than 20 flagpoles for security forces based in the war-torn country. The order for 24 top-of-the-range aluminium flagpoles follows the two dozen poles HFC sent to the capital Kabul last year, and will be used on military bases.

Scottish heights for Hampshire Flag

HFC spread its wings with the opening of a new sales office north of the border. The new Dundee-based office, headed up by Caroline McMahon, will strengthen the firm’s position as one of the UK’s leading flag manufacturers. In addition to the full product range currently on offer, the Scottish base specialises in digitally printed banners.

Record-breaking swimmer takes Arctic plunge

Adventure seeking swimmer Lewis Pugh broke the world record when he completed the first long distance swim in the Arctic Ocean. Hampshire Flag has provided on-going support for Pugh and supplied three large flags for the 1000-metre swim in the icy 3° centigrade Arctic waters which took just over 20 minutes to complete.

Amazing PR set to raise flag firm’s profile

Hampshire Flag has enlisted the expertise of Amaze marketing, a south coast marketing communications firm to carry out strategic marketing, advertising and PR work.  The integrated marketing communications strategy devised for HFC by Amaze includes media relations, corporate advertising and a range of marketing material including brochures, flyers and direct mail.

Stars in Fast Cars

A tyre-screeching success during last year’s Sport Relief, Top Gear’s Stars in Fast Cars is back for 2005. Hampshire Flag was selected to produce 24 flags in maroon, orange, red and yellow, and 100 metres of bunting for the BBC television show. The flags will feature in a series of fast paced challenges designed to test the pedal power celebrities to the max.

Smooth sailing for Microsoft

Software giant Microsoft has selected Hampshire Flag’s services to produce flags for its yachting event. The 12 digitally printed flags feature the corporation’s distinctive logo.

New sales manager joins team

Hampshire Flag has appointed Neil Lockton as national sales manager, a newly created role to enhance existing client relationships and to identify and generate new revenue opportunities nationwide. Neil joins the close-knit team to become the eighth company employee.

Jolly flag for ‘Friends’ show

Do-good reality tv show ‘With a little help from my friends’ called on Hampshire Flag’s expertise to produce a jolly roger flag for the ITV1 show featuring former England striker Ian Wright which will be screened in June.

Ain’t no mountain high enough

Adventurous duo Jo and Rob Gambi have already conquered the world’s ‘Seven Summits’ and reached the South Pole but instead of putting their feet up, the married couple are heading to the North Pole…on skis! Hampshire Flag had the honour of creating a bespoke flag which Jo and Rob will proudly display once they reach their chilly destination.

Flying the flag for education

Staff and students at a local languages college are now greeted by the colourful sight of six new international flags, pictured. Hampshire Flag installed the new flags and flagpoles at Brookfield Languages College, in Fareham, Hampshire, to highlight the college’s role in an International Schools Award.

O’Grady’s teatime treat

Chat show host Paul O’Grady’s early evening show on ITV1 featured a flag produced by the HFC.

 Sporting chance

Hampshire Flag supplied the ‘North West Backing the Bid’ flag for Sports England. Kriss Akabusi, pictured, was just one of the many sport stars to add his signature to the London 2012 Olympics flag.

Hampshire Flag’s handiwork features on the small screen once again in ‘I’m famous and frightened’ - Living TV’s spine tingling reality TV show.

 MacArthur’s ocean success

The most talked about yachting event of the year saw Ellen MacAurthur ‘go it alone’ around the world in a yacht decked out in B&Q Offshore Challenge flags, all manufactured by Hampshire Flag.

Star challenge

While the nation obsessed over who’s in and who’s out, the team at Hampshire Flag were eagerly watching Celebrity Big Brother for another reason. Channel 4’s smash hit series featured a HFC flag emblazoned with the Big Brother logo … and a toilet seat!
